Grail GM/Mismanor

Position: Author

I worked closely with graduate students Anne Sullivan and April Grow on a team of undergraduate writers and programmers to produce the research-oriented game Mismanor, which is a vehicle for the overarching research of Grail GM/the Grail Framework. Generally speaking, Grail is a virtual game master that picks and chooses scenarios for the player based on history and the current world state. I am responsible for authoring a lot of content for the game, both the dialogue that shows up for the user as well as the background reasons as to why the social moves operate the way they do within the game. The software I work with for this project includes FlashDevelop, Flash Builder, SVN, the Flex SDK, and UCSC’s CiF (Comme il Faut) social physics architecture.
